A magnificent royal albatross Diomedea epomophra caught in close up on Campbell Island. After coming close to these wonderful creatures, nobody could still eat fish caught by the rapacious industrial fisheries in the Southern Ocean whose irresponsible use of long lines are the cause of the deaths of thousands of seabirds each year. |
| The royal albatross is a huge bird with the longest wings of any flying birds, with spans of up to 3.3 metres or 11 feet. They also seem to tolerate the approach of humans very well. |
